On Sunday, February 23, 2025, my wife Mimi gave birth to our eighth child, Edith Michelle Aujero, at White Oak Adventist Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland. Baby Edi arrived six weeks early via emergency C-section weighing 5 lbs, 14 oz. She and mom are doing relatively well for their stages. Praise God.

Dear Dads. Yesterday, I looked at the personal finances and felt that ever-knowing sense of dread. Thoughts that came: “How are we going to do this?”, “Man, it feels forever not enough. “, “Dang, how did we get here?”, “This seems impossible.” And if I’m honest: “I feel like I failed.”

In 2008, when I was a junior at the Catholic University of America, our chaplain Fr. Bob said to me and our college brotherhood in an early morning Thursday Mass, “If and when you get to heaven, God will ask: who did you bring with you?” I thought about how I didn’t have real guy friends before I joined Esto Vir my freshman year, and I reflected in gratitude.
SIX Kids Under SEVEN and How I’m Not Dead Yet

In January (2022), I will have six kids under seven. And I’m not dead! OR totally miserable! Most people hearing the news, including myself, seem surprised by those two things. (Both my husband, Matt, and my therapist had to remind me that one cannot actually die just by the mere fact of having six kids under seven.)
